Update-Delta commemorates its 100th anniversary by updating its museum

Delta has successfully completed its 100 years. To commemorate this landmark achievement, Delta Airlines will kick off the centennial celebration on April 7, 2025. With this event, Delta becomes the first airline to mark 100 years in the U.S. aviation industry.

Delta Airlines commenced its operation in 1925. On March 2, 1925, Huff Daland Dusters, the first aerial crop-dusting company and the largest privately owned aircraft fleet in the U.S., began its mail-carrying operations. A century later, Delta has emerged as a prominent force in the aviation sector, renowned for its warm service and the trust it has earned from people.

Over the past 100 years, Delta has continuously been involved with innovation and bringing the latest technology to enhance the travel experience and be relevant in the market. The Delta’s Centennial reflects the resilience and dedication of people who formed Delta into one of the major airlines in the world today. Unveiled at Delta's Centennial Gala on March 15, the livery showcases dynamic details, a striking 100 emblem, and a silver supergraphic for the first time.

The museum will officially open on Monday, April 7. The vast hangars-turned-exhibit and event space capture the struggle and victory stories of the past 100 years while showing their unique culture of keeping people-first values. Take a walk through the history of Delta; the show begins in 1925 to bring you to the present with all the heartfelt and overwhelming stories of Delta innovation and dedication.

The newly refurbished Delta Museum is in the hosting heart of the airline operations, next to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and was initially opened in 1995. Over time, it has evolved into a very famous place for aviation enthusiasts, various and families alike- thousands have come to see, hear, and learn about Delta's wonderful history. The latest phase in this effort involves the renovation of the museum, intended to enhance the visitor experience as they enter into the history of Delta and witness the milestones that have defined the travel of the airline.

The new installation will feature interactive exhibitions around different aspects of aviation in the last century. The displays will tell the narrative of important moments in the air transport timeline of an airline- from the introduction of its first passenger service to its adoption of next-generation technology, which has turned the face of travel. On the centralized ever-changing exhibit will be some of the iconic aircraft models that have impacted the life of the airline and represented the Delta fleet through the decades.

Additionally, guests will be able to enter into a refurbished Douglas DC-3, an embodiment of the reliability and durability that Delta has maintained through time. And then there will be augmented reality experiences, demonstrating what the airline has done with regard to improving the quality of its customer service, safety, and sustainability missions. The new update reflects Delta's repute for commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility.

The airline carried an exhibit showing their plans and programs to focus on waste reduction and carbon emissions. Along with this, the advancements in the area of biofuels leave a positive impact on the environment.

President Delta, Ed Bastian, said that he was thrilled during a recent news conference about the museum's revamping. As he put it, "While celebrating our centennial, it is important for us to reflect on history while looking forward to the future. The refurbished museum embodies our journey, our people, and our commitment to serving our customers responsibly."

The Museum formally opens to the public on Monday, April 7.
